Hello, I’m Lindsey, your doula behind Lighthouse.
I spent 15 years in scientific research and have always been fascinated by the human body and the science behind new life. It wasn’t until I had my daughter that I truly understood the incredible power of community, female support, and compassionate guidance during birth and early parenthood. My own doula helped me feel grounded, informed, and cared for during a time that could have easily felt overwhelming. That support stayed with me and ultimately inspired me to offer the same to others. Experiencing pregnancy, birth, and postpartum opened my eyes to how profoundly important community, female connection, and emotional support are during this transition. As I’ve grown older, the value of close female friendships and shared emotional support has only deepened. Surrounding one another, encouraging each other, and holding space for the hard and beautiful moments –this is the kind of care I want every new parent to feel. Today, I blend my curiosity for science with a deeply human, heart centered approach to care. I truly enjoy building relationships with the families I support. It’s an honor to show up for people during such a meaningful season in their lives.
My Doula Philosophy
Rooted in calm, not perfection
My philosophy is simple: I meet you where you are, without judgment and support you fully. Birth is deeply personal. There is no “right” way to do it — only the way that feels right for you. My role is to support your choices, help you understand your options, and walk alongside you as you navigate your own path into parenthood. I believe in blending warmth and intuition with a respect for evidence based care. With a scientific background, I value clear information and informed decision making but I equally value the emotional, physical, and instinctive parts of birth that can’t be measured in data.
Your choices, your pace
I am here to:
- provide grounding, continuous support
- help you advocate for yourself
- offer comfort measures and reassurance
- hold space for whatever feelings arise
- help your partner feel included and empowered
Birth can feel like unfamiliar waters, and every family deserves stable support. My intention is to be that steady presence offering calm guidance and encouragement while you chart your own course.
I support medicated, unmedicated, induced, VBAC, cesarean, and everything-in-between.
